TALL TALES – The Case of
the
Growing Suspicions
CHARACTER SKETCHER EXAMPLE
JO MADISON
Character Traits:
Determined – pg. 25 par. 6
Jo is determined because she has a plan
of what she will work on each year in order to be the best basketball player
possible and one day play basketball professionally.
Impulsive – pg. 23 par. 7-8 (continue with
par. 8 on page 24)
Jo is impulsive because she takes the growth
tonic without thinking of the consequences. All she can think about
is her need to grow taller. She buys the potion without asking her
parents and without thinking about what it may do to her body in the future.
Impatient – pg. 3 par. 1
Jo is desperate because she thinks she has
no other choice but to buy Dr. Sweet’s Tall-riffic Growth Potion.
She does not think about waiting to see if she grows some more as she gets
older. Instead she tries to speed up the process by taking the growth
tonic.
Character Goal:
Jo Madison’s goal is to grow taller so that
she will make the varsity basketball team when she gets to high school
so that she can one day be a professional basketball player like her grandfather.
Character Problem:
Jo Madison’s problem is that she used a
year's worth of allowance buying Dr. Sweet’s Tall-riffic Growth Potion
in hopes that she would grow taller by using it. Her problem is that
she did not grow even a quarter of an inch taller and she used all of her
money to buy a product that did not work.
Possible Solution to the Problem:
Perhaps the Super Crew will be able to find
and confront Ross Grrow, the man who has sold the potion to people, in
order to get Jo’s money back for her. Jo will also hopefully not
try to take any other growth tonic in an attempt to grow and will be satisfied
to wait for her body to grow on its own.
